Class Commander, c.1950 consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac 39 mm (w) x 44(Ordine di San Silvestro e dello Sperone dOro). Instituted October 31st, 1841. Type II (1880 ). c. 1950. Constructed of silver with multi coloured enamels, consisting of a Maltese Cross with rays emanating from the center of the award in the quadrants between the arms of the badge, the obverse with a central blue enameled medallion bearing the bust of St. Silvester in gilt, surrounded by a broad gilt ring inscribed with Sanc. Silvester P. M. in
