Upon close examination the trigger guard is a very tarnished brass that now looks almost like steel

Serial number 225412 is found on the receiver below the maker mark

being nice and bright having their original nickel-plated surfaces in good condition

Also the rear spade grips are slightly bent

This Musket was most likely once a Model P-1771 East India Company Brown Bess that was then transformed to percussion as the first in the "A-F" Percussion Musket Series
