A Foreign Legion Commandant’s Kepi Archive 1 June 1934: Transferred toA traditional (1940s 1980s) French Foreign Legion Kepi; band constructed of black wool with gold bullion wire seven flame grenade and gold bullion chin strap on front half attached on sides by golden buttons; four gold bullion loops on top section of band; crown crafted out of red wool with triple gold bullion austrian knot braid in the centre; visor made out of black Vulcanfibre with black leather sweatband and black velvet lining on the inside;
