This is an incredibly scarce piece of early Marine Corps field gear, a Depot made M1911 Magazine pouch. These have a very unique design compared to other M1911 pouches. This rare variation saw a limited production run, from 1918 into the early 1920s, and were only made at the Philadelphia Quartermaster Depot. The pouch has both working front snaps, with stamping under the flap reading: U. S. M. C. PHILA. DEPOT. The
