This is a lovely example of the British "STAFF OFFICER'S HAT", intended for the upper ranks, with a full red band around the head and a Lion over Crown Cap Badge. This cap comes from the Collection of Major General John F. O'Ryan, the commanding Officer of the 27th Infantry Division, which operated under British Command in the fall of 1918.
