A War Commemorative Medal For Combatants Of 1814-1815 consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac cypher of Carol I on(Kriegsdenkmnze 1814 1815 Kmpfer). Instituted 14 March 1821 by Landgrave Wilhelm II. (1821 issue). Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a crowned and wreathed monogram of Landgrave Wilhelm II, above an inscription of SEINEN TAPFERN HESSEN 1821 (HIS BRAVE HESSIANS 1821), the reverse bearing an Iron Cross with central wreathed dates 1814 1815, circumscribed by an inscription of GOTT BRACH DES
