This is a very attractive original Civil War era powder flask manufactured by the American Flask & Cap Company of Waterbury, Connecticut, a comparatively short lived concern organized in 1857 and consolidated into the Waterbury Brass Company in 1865. Measuring approximately 9 1 2 long, this is a substantial example with a deeply fluted copper body, brass charger assembly, and a functioning spring operated cutoff
