This is an extremely rare 1941 dated original inert German Sprengbombe Dickwandig 2 kg, SD2, or Butterfly Bomb, used during WWII. This fine example is complete and empty (non functional). One "wing" is clearly marked 38 fyw 42. This German three letter code (fyw) indicates manufacture by Ganz & Co. AG, in Ratibor, which today is the Polish border town of Racibrz, and the bomb was manufactured in 1942. It has been
